Remarkably, Peter Crouch’s winner for Tottenham against AC Milan at the San Siro was eight years ago today.
I still remember the goal like it was yesterday. Aaron Lennon’s electrifying run and shimmy, the winger’s pass inside to Crouch and the giant striker’s half-scuffed finish.
It was an incredible moment in a thrilling journey to the Champions League quarter-finals, where Harry Redknapp’s Spurs eventually lost to Real Madrid.
The team has improved immensely since then and the current crop of players have put themselves in a promising position to reach yet another quarter-final this season.
Tottenham celebrated the eight-year anniversary of Crouch’s goal by posting a video of the moment on Twitter. Enjoy below.
