Mauricio Pochettino has revealed he attempted to sign Son Heung-min for Southampton before the duo worked together at Tottenham.
Son and Pochettino won the Player of the Year and Manager of the Year gongs at the London Football Awards on Thursday night.
In his press conference ahead of Saturday’s north London derby at Wembley, Pochettino admitted Son could have become a Southampton player.
The Argentinian said Son chose to join Bayer Leverkusen from Hamburg instead.
