Juventus have held talks with representatives of Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen, according to reports in Italy.

Eriksen is out of contract at the end of next season and there are suggestions Spurs will cash in this summer if an extension is not agreed.

The Dane has been linked with Real Madrid, with returning manager Zinedine Zidane said to be a fan.

But Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claims Juventus are considering a summer move for Eriksen.

The report reveals Juventus have already contacted the playmaker’s representatives to lay groundwork for a summer transfer.

However, it is believed Tottenham are still confident Eriksen will sign a new contract and stay in north London.

If that doesn’t happen, Spurs will demand a huge fee for a player they value very highly.

The situation is likely to drag on until the end of the season, and Tottenham fans will be hoping it doesn’t continue to hinder Eriksen’s form.

The 27-year-old hasn’t quite looked himself lately. The sooner his future is resolved, the better.

  1. If we could arrange a bidding war between Real and Juve I can see this going to 150 million quid with any luck — hopefully wiping out a quarter of Tottenham FC’s debt in one swoop. If Alderweireld has to go too there’s another 50 million, if that ridiculous 26 million knock-down price for Man Utd’s benefit can be avoided.
