Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico, according to the Sun.
Tagliafico, who has mostly played at left-back since joining Ajax from Argentine side Independiente in January last year, has scored five goals and provided five assists across all competitions this season.
The 26-year-old is said to be a target for Arsenal, but the Sun claims Spurs have watched him several times this term and are considering a £15 million summer swoop.
It is believed Ajax are willing to sell Tagliafico if if they can make a considerable profit on a player they signed for just £3.6 million last year.
Tottenham could be in need of a new left-back this summer with Danny Rose being linked with an exit once again.
Regardless of whether Rose stays or goes, it is important for Spurs to upgrade at full-back, a position they have endured difficulties with over the last couple of campaigns.
Pochettino’s nationality could help to swing things in Tottenham’s favour in terms of beating Arsenal to the signing of Tagliafico, who has made 13 appearances for the Argentina national team.
We can’t let the spuds beat us. Get it done arsenal.
