Tottenham Hotspur will reignite their interest in Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish this summer, according to the Mirror.
Grealish appeared to be close to joining Spurs last summer but Villa’s new owners pulled the plug on the deal at the last minute.
Tottenham ended up signing nobody in the transfer window, something they repeated in January.
With that in mind, the Londoners are likely to spend this summer and it is believed Grealish is back on the shortlist.
The Mirror claims Spurs will go back in for the 23-year-old but could face competition from West Ham United and Bournemouth.
Those clubs would probably be able to offer Grealish guaranteed fist-team football, while he would have work much harder at Tottenham to become a regular starter.
But the prospect of Champions League football – if Spurs remain in the top four – could be enough to lure Grealish to north London.
His chances of playing frequently under Mauricio Pochettino could depend on whether Christian Eriksen stays or goes.
Grealish would be an affordable replacement for the Dane, who has been linked with Real Madrid.
