Mauricio Pochettino has said Harry Kane could miss the remainder of the season after suffering an ankle injury against Manchester City on Tuesday night.

Kane was involved in a 50/50 challenge with Fabian Delph 10 minutes into the second half and came off worse, twisting his left ankle and immediately limping down the tunnel.

It was the same ankle he injured in January which saw him miss a month of action.

“We need to check after tomorrow but it looks like it’s the same ankle and a similar injury,” Pochettino told BT Sport.

“We are going to miss him, maybe for the rest of the season.”

Tottenham actually took the lead after Kane left the pitch when Son Heung-min latched onto a Christian Eriksen pass to put the hosts ahead.

The Londoners didn’t massively miss Kane the last time he was on the sidelines in terms of results, but it’s worth noting they scraped through a series of games without their talisman up front.

Son also appeared to suffer an injury, going down holding his calf moments before the goal, but carried on and ended the game strongly.

Dele Alli, however, did the leave the pitch with a wrist injury. Tottenham’s lack of depth could be tested in the coming weeks.
