Real Madrid have slapped a £112 million price tag on former Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale, according to reports in Spain.

Bale is yet again being linked with a summer return to the Premier League. Spurs and Manchester United are said to be interested.

Spanish outlet Marca claims Real Madrid want to take advantage of the current market by selling Bale for €130 million, which equates to approximately £112 million.

That means Tottenham would have to pay more than double – and almost triple – their current transfer record to re-sign Bale this summer.

If a return to Spurs was already unlikely, it now seems impossible. That said, Marca do suggest Bale could move as part of a swap.

However, the report claims that is more likely to be a part-exchange with Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, who has been mooted as a possible target for Madrid.

The La Liga giants have also been linked with Christian Eriksen, so there is a small chance they would be willing to use Bale as a makeweight for the Dane.

But all of the above seems fanciful for now. Indeed, Tottenham are unlikely to make a move for Bale any time soon.
