Manchester United are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen this summer, according to the Mirror.

Eriksen is out of contract at the end of next season and has been heavily linked with Real Madrid.

However, the Mirror claims Madrid are prioritising summer moves for Paul Pogba and Eden Hazard.

And it is believed Eriksen could instead join United, who will be eager to replace Pogba if the Frenchman heads to the Bernabeu.

United are apparently willing to treble Eriksen’s £80,000 weekly wages to £240,000, a basic salary Spurs simply can’t offer.

Harry Kane is thought to be Tottenham’s highest earner on around £200,000 per week.

The Mirror’s report suggests Eriksen wants to match Kane’s wages but Spurs are unwilling to pay the Dane what he wants.

As a result, there is a good chance Eriksen will leave north London this summer, and the Mirror claims Tottenham want £95 million if that is to happen.

That means United would have to break their transfer record to sign the 27-year-old.

Spurs fans will be hoping a new contract can be agreed as soon as possible to end speculation about Eriksen’s future, but right now it is all up in the air.
