Tottenham have opened talks with Barcelona over a possible deal for Malcom, according to reports in Spain.

Malcom was strongly linked with Spurs in January 2018 when he played for Bordeaux, but the Londoners ended up signing Lucas Moura from Paris Saint-Germain instead and Malcom joined Barcelona a few months later.

Lucas remains Tottenham’s most recent signing, but the club is expected to spend money on new additions this summer.

And according to Spanish outlet Sport, Malcom is on Mauricio Pochettino’s list of targets.

Spurs are believed to have brought Malcom into the conversation when discussing a move for Andre Gomes, who is set to return to Barcelona after spending the season on loan at Everton.

Central midfield is certainly the priority for Tottenham, but adding another forward to the squad wouldn’t do any harm.

Sport claims Malcom is open to moving to the Premier League, while Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are also said to hold an interest in the Brazilian.

Barcelona apparently want to recoup at least the €40 million they spent on the 22-year-old, who scored four goals in 23 appearances across all competitions in his debut season in Spain.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs really do make a move for Malcom, but any transfer business is likely to be left until after the Champions League final on June 1st.

  1. I do not understand way Barcelona selling Melcom for 40m he is a good player and he worth more than 40m I wish Barcelona keep him.

  2. Why would Tottenham want a Barca reject? Most of the time they flop, unless they have a certain amount of physicallity. Maybe Gomes is the best choice since he proved himself at Everton. Pass on Malcom, unless Spurs scouting knows something I dont, nothing spectacular in his highlights reel.
