Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Ceballos has been in and out of the starting line-up since joining Real Madrid from Real Betis in the summer of 2017.

He scored three goals in 23 La Liga appearances this season and could be on his way out of the club in the coming weeks in search of more game time elsewhere.

Spanish outlet El Desmarque claims Spurs are the ‘main player’ interested in signing Ceballos, who is apparently being watched by a number of big European clubs.

Tottenham are said to be willing to pay between €40-50 million for the 22-year-old but could face competition for his signature from Arsenal and Juventus.

Real Betis are also believed to be keen on a reunion with their former player, but they may not be able to compete with Ceballos’ other suitors financially.

Spurs are desperate for reinforcements in central midfield with Eric Dier and Victor Wanayma both struggling with fitness and form issues this term.

Ceballos would provide an adequate level of competition for Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko, although Tottenham fans may want the club to sign a player of an even higher quality.
