Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League dream came to an end with a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in Madrid.
An early Mohamed Salah penalty and Divock Origi’s late strike sealed the trophy for the Merseysiders.
Spurs were the better team for long stretches, but a few players struggled to get going.
Here’s how every Tottenham player rated on the night.
Hugo Lloris, 6 – Could do little about the goals. Wasn’t stretched otherwise.
Kieran Trippier, 5 – Dealt with Sadio Mane reasonably well but his crossing was poor.
Toby Alderweireld, 7 – Solid in the heart of the defence as usual.
Jan Vertonghen, 7 – Didn’t let Salah cut inside, blocking one of Liverpool’s key threats.
Danny Rose, 7 – Ran, tackled and fought all night long. Can’t fault him.
Moussa Sissoko, 6 – Unfortunate with the handball. Played well but was subbed due to injury.
Harry Winks, 6 – Calm and composed on the ball. Hooked to change the shape.
Christian Eriksen, 5 – A few incisive passes but was too quiet, which was decisive.
Dele Alli, 4 – His flicks and tricks didn’t come off and he was wasteful in the final third.
Son Heung-min, 5 – Got some decent shots away but his first touch was sloppy at times.
Harry Kane, 4 – Just couldn’t get involved. Snatched at his shots a little.
Substitutes
Lucas Moura, 4 – Added some zip but missed the best chance to equalise.
Eric Dier, N/A – Made up for the control lost after Winks’ substitution.
Fernando Llorente, N/A – Barely touched the ball.
