Ben Davies has said the entire Tottenham Hotspur squad wants Mauricio Pochettino to stay at the club.
Speculation about Pochettino’s future surfaced before the Champions League final and has continued into the aftermath of Spurs’ defeat to Liverpool in Madrid.
Tottenham appear to be going about their business as usual, reportedly making a club record move for Real Betis star Giovani Lo Celso, which suggests Pochettino will remain at the club.
But the rumour mill is likely to continue linking the Argentinian with an exit until he verbally confirms he is definitely staying put.
And Davies claims every Spurs player wants Pochettino to remain in charge going into next season.
“He’s been amazing for us,” Davies told the London Evening Standard.
“He’s put the building blocks in place to put us where we’ve been in the Champions League. The way we’ve played, and the attitude and belief we’ve got in the squad is all down to him.
“As a group of players, we really hope he stays because he’s the one to take us to the next level.”
Despite the disappointment of losing the Champions League final, Pochettino has received plenty of plaudits for getting Tottenham there in the first place.
The club is now expected to back Pochettino in the summer transfer market in order to convince him to stay by matching his ambition.
Personnel changes are bound to happen in the comings weeks, but it seems the players and the fans agree that Pochettino must stick around.
