Ajax star Donny van de Beek would consider joining Tottenham Hotspur, according to Dutch journalist Marcel van der Kraan.

Van de Beek was one of Ajax’s best performers during their incredible 2018/19 campaign, scoring 17 goals and providing 13 assists from midfield across all competitions.

The 22-year-old was on the scoresheet against Spurs in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals.

And Van der Kraan believes he could be on his way to the Premier League this summer.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Van der Kraan claimed Van de Beek is eager to move to England, with Tottenham and Manchester United the clubs he has his heart set on.

The journalist said: “Donny van de Beek has his eyes set on the Premier League.

“I think he’s a proper Premier League player – he’s got a big tank, he’s got the education from Ajax, he can play in more positions in midfield.

“I think he’s got his eyes set on a club like Man United or Tottenham Hotspur.

“I’ve been talking to his agent, and he said if that would materialise it would be something right up his street.”

Ajax could lose a number of players this summer, with midfielder Frenkie de Jong already on his way to Barcelona and Matthijs de Ligt being linked with a host of clubs.

With that in mind the Dutch champions may look to keep hold of at least a couple of their stars, so Van de Beek could be forced to stay for another year.

What’s more, Ajax will likely command a big fee for the Netherlands international.
