Monaco will not attempt to sign Tottenham Hotspur winger Georges-Kevin Nkodou on a permanent basis this summer, according to reports in France.
Nkoudou joined Monaco on loan in the January transfer window but made just three appearances for the club, totalling 20 minutes of game time in Ligue 1.
It’s safe to say the former Marseille man didn’t make the biggest of impressions during his loan spell, so the latest word coming out of France isn’t exactly a surprise.
France Football claims Monaco will not pursue a permanent deal for Nkoudou, who will now return to Spurs with his future up in the air… again.
The 24-year-old made just one Premier League appearance for Tottenham in 2018/19, coming off the bench to provide a brilliant assist for Harry Winks in a narrow victory over Fulham.
He followed that up with an anonymous performance against Crystal Palace as Spurs crashed out of the FA Cup and was duly sent out on loan.
Monaco ended up surviving in Ligue 1 by the skin of their teeth, but Nkodou didn’t contribute to the effort at all.
It’s likely Spurs will look to sell him in the coming weeks if they can find a buyer.
Never given the chances
