Juventus will target Tottenham Hotspur defender Kieran Trippier if they lose Joao Cancelo to Manchester City, according to the Times.
Earlier this month, we relayed reports from Italy suggesting the exact same thing; Cancelo has been linked with City and Juventus see Trippier as a potential replacement.
The Times claim Juventus consider Trippier to be an upgrade on Cancelo, who is being tipped to complete a £45 million move to the Etihad.
If that happens, it is believed Juventus will mull over a £30 million move for Trippier despite the right-back enduring a difficult 2018/19.
Trippier has struggled for consistency ever since returning from last summer’s World Cup, during which he shone for England.
Gareth Southgate left the 28-year-old out of his UEFA Nations League finals squad, leading to suggestions Trippier could leave Spurs in order to win his England place back.
It sounds as if he will be Juventus’ first-choice right-back if they manage to lure him to Turin, so he will get the chance to impress Southgate from afar.
Still, the move would come as something of a surprise given Trippier’s performances over the last 12 months.
