Manchester United are mulling over a move for Eric Dier after Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele informed them he would prefer to join Tottenham, according to Team Talk.
Earlier this month, we relayed reports suggesting Manchester United are keen to strengthen their squad in midfield and Dier is on their list of potential targets.
But over the weekend, the Daily Mail claimed United are having reservations over Dier’s £40 million price tag because of his fitness and form struggles in 2018/19.
And now, Team Talk believes United are considering making an offer for Dier after missing out on Ndombele, possibly to Spurs.
This week Ndombele admitted he would be tempted by the chance to join Tottenham, although he has also been linked with United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Juventus.
Team Talk seems to think the Frenchman has already told United he will not be signing for them, leading the Red Devils to turn their attentions to Dier.
If anything, the story shows just how important qualifying for the Champions League is.
Spurs look set to beat United to Ndombele primarily because they will be playing in Europe’s elite competition next season.
Quite right!
The Red scum can Jog on. We should never sell to them!
Let him go…overrated and would be a benefit to us when playing them!
Rather him than anyone else!
I agree Essex Spur…but to a point, rather him than any other of our midfielders.
His form has been terrible, seems a no brainer to sell and put the money towards ndombele – have to trust poch on this one
Siunds a lot of nonsense, why would we sell one of our best players simply because of a few iinjuries and illness impacted a lot of his playing time last season doesn’t lessen his quality and what he brings to the side, but I’m sure Poch knows all this and would never sell, never mind for only £40 million
