Real Madrid are preparing an offer of £45 million plus midfielder Dani Ceballos to sign Christian Eriksen from Tottenham, according to the Sun.

Eriksen recently revealed he may seek a new challenge this summer leading to plenty of speculation about a move to Madrid.

Yesterday we relayed a report suggesting the La Liga giants are unwilling to pay more than £70 million for the Dane, but Spurs are said to be asking for £80 million.

And now, the Sun claims Madrid will attempt a cash-plus-player deal in an attempt to convince Tottenham to sell.

The newspaper believes Madrid are willing to put £45 million on the table while also offering Ceballos in part exchange.

Ceballos scored three goals in 23 La Liga appearances last season and is highly rated at the Bernabeu.

However, the 22-year-old has apparently told Zinedine Zidane he wants to leave in order to play more regularly elsewhere.

Spurs will surely be tempted by the deal given that they are desperate for reinforcements in central midfield.

That said, the Londoners appear to be continuing their pursuit of Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele, meaning they may not feel the need to accept a deal that involves Ceballos.

  1. I like Ceballos he is a good player and a player that would be a fantastic squad player but not a priority at the minute, also 45 mil and him is not an offer I would say yes too either. If it was Ceballos plus cash I would want 55 mil plus him imo if they only want to offer 45 plus player then I would want Isco included to me he could be a player to help us get to the next level not Ceballos.

    • Have to agree with McCrory on this £45 million plus Isco. Put the money towards Ndombele. Would love the young right back at Palace while we are at it his stats last year were top notch.

  2. The £80m is nowhere near what we actually want. It’s more like £130m. Madrid know this, they are testing the waters with this initial offer( it took 3 offers for hazard before Chelski accepted) we should sit tight and maximise Eriksen has been a good player for us. But once a player says he wants a new challenge and then if nothing materialises he will stay. It’s time to say goodbye.

    • Can’t see us getting anywhere near £130 million for eriksen. Lucky if we get £85 million even with Levy calling it.

  3. Look where this report has come from, the Sun so called newspaper. You’ve got to be off your head to take seriously anything written by those story tellers.
