Tottenham have offered £17 million plus Vincent Janssen for Fenerbahce starlet Eljif Elmas, according to reports in Turkey.
Back in April, we relayed a story suggesting Spurs were closing in on the signing of Elmas despite interest from Manchester City.
The 19-year-old scored four goals in 40 appearances across all competitions in 2018/19 from central midfield.
And now, Turkish outlet Fotomac (via Sport Witness) claims Spurs have lodged a cash-plus-player bid for the teenager.
It is believed Tottenham are willing to include wantaway striker Janssen in the £17 million deal they have offered Fenerbahce.
Janssen spent the 2017/18 season on loan at the Super Lig club but failed to seal a permanent move last summer because of a foot injury.
The 25-year-old made a couple of substitute appearances for Spurs at the end of last term but is expected to move on in the coming weeks.
If Tottenham are genuinely interested in Elmas, using Janssen to sign the North Mecedonia international makes a lot of sense.
It’s unlikely Elmas is seen as an alternative to prime target Tanguy Ndombele – Spurs are probably pursuing both players.
