Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Lille midfielder Benjamin Bourgeaud, according to reports in Spain.

Bouregard scored nine goals and registered 10 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions last season as Lille finished second behind only Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1.

Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo claims the 25-year-old is one of Spanish side Sevilla’s priorities in the current transfer window.

But Spurs are apparently among a host of clubs keen on Bourgeaud, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and five of the top six in Italy.

It is believed Sevilla have made an offer of €12 million for the Frenchman, but Lille are said to be holding out for closer to €15 million.

Bourgeaud still has two years remaining on his current contract, so it’s perhaps surprising that Lille are asking for so little.

With that in mind, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy might be tempted to get himself a bargain.

Tanguy Ndombele will reportedly set the Londoners back around £60 million, so there won’t be much left in the budget if that deal goes through.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs take their interest any further.
