Tottenham Hotspur did make an offer for imminent Manchester United signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to the Times.
By all accounts, the Crystal Palace defender is set to join United for £50 million in the coming days.
He had been linked with Spurs but it appears the Red Devils have fought off any competition to secure his signature this summer.
However, the Times claims Tottenham made an interesting offer for Wan-Bissaka before he agreed to join United.
It is believed Spurs were put off by Palace’s huge valuation of the right-back and so attempted to include Kyle Walker-Peters as part of a deal.
Walker-Peters struggled for first-team minutes last season, so it would make sense for Tottenham to try and move him on.
What’s more, it must have been a tempting proposal to Palace who will obviously be looking for a new right-back to replace Wan-Bissaka.
The report doesn’t make it clear but there is a good chance Spurs didn’t offer enough cash on top of Walker-Peters.
