Gareth Bale has been linked with a return to Tottenham Hotspur again, but his agent has already suggested the rumours are nonsense.

The Real Madrid star found himself out of favour at the Bernabeu last season after Zinedine Zidane returned to the dugout.

And according to Marca, Spurs are interested in taking Bale off Zidane’s hands.

The Londoners have apparently made an offer of somewhere between €50 million and €60 million but are said to be unwilling to meet Bale’s wage demands.

As a result, Madrid would have to pay around half of the Welshman’s salary even if they sell him to Tottenham permanently.

However, Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has already dismissed Marca’s story.

Speaking to talkSPORT (via the Mail) on Tuesday morning, Barnett said: “I don’t comment on rubbish.”

There are a number of reasons why the idea of Bale returning to Spurs is an unrealistic one, none less than the issue with his wages.

On top of that, Bale has just turned 30 and Tottenham are unlikely top offer him a long-term contract, particularly when his injury record is taken into account.

  1. “Gareth Bale has been linked with a return to Tottenham Hotspur again, but his agent has already suggested the rumours are nonsense”. Yet you still set up a click bait headline. Pathetic.

  2. You really are becoming suspect on this site. What dream deal!? He is 30 years old, injury prone, has massive wages and we need to pay RM up to 50-60 mill for him. This was never viable or feasible and why people have been going on about this is disgraceful.
