Luke Amos made a telling contribution for Queens Park Rangers as they record their first pre-season victory against League One side Oxford United this afternoon.

The 22-year-old, who joined the Hoops on a season-long loan deal earlier this month, has featured heavily for Mark Warburton’s men in recent weeks and made his mark by scoring two headers in the space of three minutes at the Kassam Stadium – as QPR ran out 2-1 winners.

Amos made his senior Tottenham debut in the opening day win at Newcastle United last season coming on as a late substitute for Eric Dier, but suffered a serious knee injury in a Premier League 2 match against Blackburn Rovers in September and was forced to miss the entire campaign.

But after returning full fitness, the on loan Spurs man made the short move across London to Loftus Road and will be hoping his performances have earned himself a place in Warburton’s starting XI when the R’s open up their Championship season at Stoke City on August 3rd.
