Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir is reportedly set to undergo a medical with Real Betis on Monday, which could affect Tottenham’s pursuit of Giovani Lo Celso.
Spurs have been heavily linked with a move for Lo Celso, who joined Betis permanently in April after a successful loan spell with the club.
Betis now look set to cash in on the Argentinian after being approached by Tottenham last month, according to reports.
In recent days there has been talk of discussions between Spurs and Betis progressing, with the Spanish media claiming the Londoners have increased their offer for Lo Celso to €68 million.
And now, Goal is claiming Betis are closing in on the signing of Lyon captain Fekir, Lo Celso’s replacement, who was being pursued by Liverpool at this time last year.
With that deal looking likely to go through, Tottenham may be able to fast track a deal for Lo Celso.
However, Spurs will probably have to break their transfer record once again to sign the 23-year-old, so selling Christian Eriksen may have to be considered.
What’s more, Lo Celso would arguably be a direct replacement for Eriksen, meaning it would make sense for the Dane to depart if Lo Celso comes in.
