Tottenham picked up their first piece of silverware this season as they beat Bayern Munich on penalties to win the 2019 Audi Cup – despite squandering a 2-0 lead in normal time.

It caps off a good week in the German capital for Spurs, who become the first Premier League side to win the annual pre-season tournament.

Goals from Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen put Tottenham into a 2-0 lead, but two goals in the final half hour from Jann-Fiete Arp and Alphonso Davies saw the game go into penalties after the sides were level at 2-2 at the end of the 90 minutes.

Spurs, who lost to Chelsea in the Carabao Cup last-four on penalties back in January, missed just once from 12-yards through Eriksen, whilst a number of youngsters were given the opportunity from the spot and all passed with flying colours.

But there was one in particular that particularly pleased boss Mauricio Pochettino. 20-year-old Jack Roles was Tottenham’s fifth taker and he tucked his spot-kick away into the bottom right-hand corner with a great deal of confidence before getting a nod of approval from his manager.

You can see that lovely moment in the video below.
