Tanguy Ndombele might have been rested for Tottenham’s Audi Cup final victory tonight – but the midfielder produced a response on social media that Spurs fans will love after their annual pre-season tournament victory.
The 22-year-old was rested against Bayern Munich having played the first-half of the win against Real Madrid 24 hours earlier – and Mauricio Pochettino reportedly didn’t want to risk his record-signing with Inter Milan to come in their final friendly on Sunday, and then the start of the new Premier League season kicking off less than a week later.
In his four seasons in France, Ndombele didn’t manage to win any silverware, but after lifting his first trophy as a Tottenham player in Munich this evening, the midfield powerhouse is hungry for more.
Pictured with French international teammate moments after the game, Ndombele posted a photo on Instagram that read ‘First trophy with Tottenham, hoping there will be more #COYS.’
Don’t we all, Tanguy.
