Tottenham are keen on Borussia Monchengladbach defender Matthias Ginter but will need his valuation to go down if they are to sign him, according to reports in Germany.

Ginter was linked with Spurs back in the summer in 2017 when he still played for Borussia Dortmund, and again in February this year. He is a World Cup-winning centre-back who can also play on the right.

German outlet Bild now claims Tottenham have revived their interest in Ginter, who they are willing to pay around £32 million for. However, it is believed Monchengladbach value the 25-year-old at £55 million, meaning Spurs are some way off being able to afford him.

Atletico Madrid are also said to be interested. Diego Simeone will be keen to replace Diego Godin, who moved to Inter earlier this summer, after already strengthening at right-back with the acquisition of Kieran Trippier from Tottenham.

Spurs may decide to speed up their pursuit of Ginter if there are developments concerning Toby Alderweired in the next few days. Roma are apparently still in for the Belgian, but a Liverpool defender could end up helping Tottenham keep him – find out more here.
