Real Madrid have entered the race to sign Sporting Lisbon playmaker and reported Tottenham target Bruno Fernandes, according to reports in Portugal.
Spurs have apparently been locked in talks with Sporting over the last couple of days, trying to get a deal done done for Fernandes. Sporting are said to be demanding a £64 million fee for their star midfielder, who has also been heavily linked with Manchester United.
Now, Portuguese outlet Record claims Real Madrid are the latest European giant to express an interest in signing Fernandes. The Spanish transfer window is open for longer than the English one, which closes next week, so Real Madrid will have until the end of the month to sign Fernandes if he doesn’t join Tottenham or United in the coming days.
Real have also been tipped to make a move for Spurs star Christian Eriksen. If they do try to sign the Dane, it could give Tottenham a free run at Fernandes. The Portugal international scored 31 goals last season and would make up for Eriksen’s absence in attack. It could be an interesting few days.
