Pre-season always seems to throw up some ridiculous outcomes – and Tottenham’s  game against Inter Milan was no different.

Spurs were beaten 4-3 on penalties in their final friendly before the real thing gets underway next Saturday after Stefano Sensi cancelled out Lucas Moura’s fine early strike.

And as these International Champions Cup games go, penalties were required to sort out a winner.

Christian Eriksen missed his second spot-kick of the week before Paulo Gazzaniga produced more heroics to deny Inter’s George Pușcaș from 12-yards.

Heung Min Son converted Spurs’ third penalty before Georges-Kevin Nkoudou stepped up for the hosts and given how his career in North London has panned out, no one could have predicted what came next.

The Frenchman strolled up and confidently chipped down the middle, completely fooling the Inter goalkeeper – producing a cheeky Panenka on what is likely to his first and last appearance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as a home player.

It rounds off a pretty productive week for Nkoudou, who also claimed a lovely assist against Bayern Munich, and if he does end his nightmare at Spurs this week, he has certainly finished on a high.

  1. As regards the match against Inter Milan, another lazy lazy penalty by Eriksen. This goes to show he doesn’t want to play for Tottenham. So, get rid of him now, we don’t want him. If not put him on the subs bench to stew all season or stick him in the under 23’s.

    • Absolutely. His body language shows us he’s making no effort to even pretend to be interested in being part of the team.

  2. It saddens me to have to agree with the previous comments. I have always like Eriksen. However, his level of indifference towards the team, the fans and, I dare say, towards football, is palpable. It’s become too obvious of late to ignore. I’m sorry Christian, but the bell has tolled for you and you must go… NOW!!!

  3. He’s been dialling it in for 2 seasons now…his shadow gets closer to making a tackle than he does. I’d take a half fit lamela over him just for his big heart.

  4. Previous comments say it all. The trouble is what message does he think he has sent to potential buyers. Attitude problem, poor performance and doesn’t care. He thought Real Madrid would be begging him to sign. Instead, no club has come in for him. You have to keep earning respect if you want more. He has failed to do so.
