Galatasaray representatives have flown to London for talks with Tottenham over the signing of Victor Wanyama, according to reports in Turkey.

Wanyama has been tipped to leave Spurs before the European transfer window closes at the end of the month. The midfielder, who joined from Southampton in the summer of 2016, has struggled with injuries over the last couple of years, and his route to the starting line-up has been blocked further by the arrival of record signing Tanguy Ndombele.

Having suffered yet another injury in pre-season, Wanyama had been a doubt for Tottenham’s Premier League curtain-raiser against Aston Villa on Saturday but ended up being selected among the substitutes – although he didn’t make it onto the field as Ndombele scored in a 3-1 victory.

Now, Turkish outlet Fanatik is reporting that Galatasaray have sent one of their officials, Sukru Haznedar, to London for talks over Wanyama. It’s beginning to look like a real possibility that the 28-year-old will leave before the European deadline.

Wanyama has two years left on his contract, but knowing Daniel Levy, Spurs will still attempt to recoup most of the money they spent on him three years ago.
