Match of the Day pundits Jermaine Jenas and Phil Neville insist Tottenham will win a trophy this season after improving the squad over the summer.

Spurs broke their transfer record with the signing of Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon before sealing deadline day deals for Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon. Jack Clarke also arrived from Leeds United but has returned to Elland Road on loan for the season.

There are still questions marks over the futures of Alderweireld and Eriksen – particularly the latter – but Tottenham’s squad is generally stronger than it was last season.

The Londoners began their Premier League campaign with a comeback victory over Aston Villa at the new stadium. Ndombele scored the equaliser before Harry Kane’s late brace secured the points for Tottenham.

Analysing the game on Match of the Day 2, former Spurs midfielder Jenas and England Women’s manager Neville were full of praise for Pochettino’s side.

Asked for a one word answer on whether Tottenham will win a trophy this season, both Jenas and Neville said: “Yes.”

Pochettino has voiced his desire to pick up his first piece of silverware this term. But which competition do you think Spurs have the best chance of winning? Let us know in the comments section below.
