Napoli have offered former Tottenham striker and World Cup winner Fernando Llorente a contract.

Llorente, who is a free agent after his deal at Spurs expired at the end of the season, has been training with Sevilla’s B team since his release from the North London outfit.

The Spaniard has also been offered one-year contract with Tottenham, but is yet to sign a new deal or return to the club and missed their pre-season tours of both the Far East and the Audi Cup in Germany a fortnight ago.

And now, journalist Fabrizio Romano, is reporting that the Italian giants, who finished second in Serie A and were knocked out of the Europa League by Spurs’ rivals Arsenal, are interesting in signing Llorente, who played a crucial part in Tottenham’s run to the Champions League final last term, and in particular their semi-final victory over Ajax.

Talks are ongoing between Napoli and Llorente and as the 34-year-old is currently without a club, he can join even after the European transfer window closes on 2nd September.
