Tottenham travel to Manchester City aiming to make it two wins from two after last weekend’s 3-1 victory over Aston Villa. With three valuable points at stake against a title rival, Mauricio Pochettino has a number of decisions to make regarding his team selection.
The Spurs boss has confirmed Jan Vertonghen is fit, although it’s unclear whether the Belgian will go straight back into the starting line-up. We think he will, partnering Toby Alderweireld with Danny Rose and Kyle Walker-Peters the full-backs in front of Hugo Lloris.
There is also a choice to be made between using Christian Eriksen, who was excellent against Villa, or Erik Lamela. Pochettino has suggested contract issues will play no part in his team selections for the rest of the month, so there is a good chance Eriksen will be back in the XI, providing support for Lucas Moura and Harry Kane up front.
A three man midfield of Harry Winks, Tanguy Ndombele and Moussa Sissoko should give Tottenham the defensive capabilities to deal with City, although stopping the champions remains a tough task.
Meanwhile, Pochettino says deadline day arrival Giovani Lo Celso will not start but could be on the bench. Here’s our predicted line-up to face City – what’s yours? Let us know in the comments section below.

My team would be like this Lloris Sissocko right back Sanchez Toby Vertonghan left back Ndombele Dier Winks Ericksen Moura Kane 2nd half Lo Celso Winks Lamela Sissocko Dier right back for last 10mins
Wouldn’t start sissoko. Gives the ball away too much and never gets first time cross in without hitting defender. It’s the same team that struggled early on against a team newly promoted
