Spurs team confirmed – Is this man unfortunate to lose his place v Man City?

The Tottenham team for Saturday’s trip to Manchester City has been confirmed, and the big news is Christian Eriksen’s return to the starting line-up.

Eriksen was left on the bench for last weekend’s Premier League curtain-raiser against Against Villa, coming on midway through the second half and changing the game as Spurs came from a goal down to win 3-1.

His performance has earned him a start against the champions, but it means Lucas Moura will sit this one out. Is the Brazilian unfortunate to lose his place?

Lucas had a good pre-season but failed to find the net against Villa despite looking sharp in the early stages. He will be a good option from the bench should Pochettino need him at the Etihad.

Meanwhile, Jan Vertonghen is back on the bench but Pochettino has stuck with a centre-back partnership of Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld. New signing Giovani Lo Celso is also among the substitutes for the first time.

  1. The team has to be rotated, but the luckiest player to be there is Lamela. Yes, he again showed some ‘promise’ in the summer, but that is all it ever amounts to. When they see his name on the sheet MC will be jumping up and down with joy.

  2. i agree lucas shld start but lamela was not that bad as ppl say against villa its good we got lucas and le celso on bench thats too big guns to turn too if the starting 11 aren’t working right for second half

  3. This game has not started yet but we have already lose out in the defense. Their fast and pacy wingers will hurt our back line. My predicted score line is 3:1 or 2:0 to City.
