Lucas Moura provided the perfect response to being left of the Tottenham team to play Manchester City on Saturday evening.
The Brazilian, who netted that famous hat-trick against Ajax in the Champions League semi-final back in may, was surprisingly on the bench against the champions, with Mauricio Pochettino opting to start with Christian Eriksen in his place, although many thought it would be Erik Lamela sacrificed for the Dane.
But Moura, like he has done in a host of away games against the Premier League’s top-six in the past 12 months, made the difference for Tottenham, heading home Lamela’s 56th minute corner just 19 seconds after coming on to earn Pochettino’s men an unlikely draw at the Etihad, in what proved to be the fifth fastest goal as a substitute in Premier League history.
And after notching his first of the campaign and 17th in Spurs colours, the Brazilian international took to Twitter. You can see his humorous response below.

And sometime buying another right-back before you sell all the others is useful. Given that Lo Celso was not bought outright and an initial loan payment of perhaps £10-12m (?) was paid to Betis, it would have been expedient to put in a substantial bid for Youcef Atal to solve the right-back issue while funds were available. If Aurier goes (which seems quite likely) we will be very thin at right-back and could pay the price for that. The transfer window was pretty good but it could have been better had we acquired another accomplished right-back who suits our style of play.

Mistakes from the other side of pitch resulted in the goal. And give Sterling and De bruyne some credit they both world class players. Maybe we can play a static 4 across the back and defend the way we did in the second half. We have enough fire power upfront,we dont need our wingbacks running up and down the wings and producing nothing. Toby can slide over when Jan is in the lineup if needed or go 3 at the back which I dont like but can do for lesser teams and cup ties.

Far from blaming anyone for the City goals, I see no point in VAR if the offside rule is NOT administered properly, the short time span in which players can be off then on side is the duty of an effecient linesperson, which was As I saw the fault. OFFSIDE if the person is beyond the last man.
If you check the video closely, Sterling wandered from being offside to on to off before clearly being able to nod the ball past Hugo.
The second however was purely a case of pushing Sanchez forward, clearly a shove to the players left before Aguerro cruised in.
Not Offside but clearly having fouled Sanchez. Neither decisions questioned by VAR
So Two goals created by a player who has a major habit of leaning forward, creating an unequally balanced cross which in effect scientifically places his leading arm in an offside position.
All very technical but fact.
