Tottenham are interested in signing Rennes wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga, according to the Daily Mail.

Camavinga, 16, became big news over the weekend as he played a starring role in Rennes’ shock 2-1 victory over French champions Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1. The teenager, who plays in central midfield, put in a performance beyond his years and provided the assist for the winning goal.

The Mail claims Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester City had scouts at the game to watch Camavinga, but the starlet is also apparently attracting interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Having broken into the Rennes first team last season, it’s clear Camavinga has a big future ahead of him given his age. If their interest in genuine, Tottenham’s problem will be convincing the youngster to join them ahead of the likes of Real and Barcelona.

If those clubs are involved, then it will be difficult for Spurs to lure Camavinga to north London. But sceptics should remember that Tottenham signed Tanguy Ndombele this summer despite reported interest from Juventus, Manchester United and others.

For now, it’s merely speculation – but watch this space.
