Four years ago today, Dele Alli introduced himself to the Premier League by scoring his first Tottenham goal in a 1-1 draw against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

It was the first of ten goals that season for the 23-year-old, who has gone on to bag a total of 53 in 184 matches during his four-years at Spurs.

Alli, a second-half substitute on just his second top-flight appearance, ghosted in at the back-post and bravely headed home Nacer Chadli’s to put Tottenham in front against the champions elect before running over to celebrate with the visiting supporters.

The midfielder, who was still a teenager at the time, has struggled to replicate that kind of form in the previous two seasons, echoed by his goal return of just seven last term, his worst since joining Spurs back in 2015.

Alli remains out with a hamstring injury, but Mauricio Pochettino is hopefully he will be fit enough to return after the next international break and rediscover his early performances in a Tottenham shirt.

You can relive Alli’s back-post header against the Foxes in the video below.
