Serge Aurier is eager to seal a move away from Tottenham before the European transfer window closes at the end of the month, according to the Times.

The defender is yet to feature for Spurs this season after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations with a wrist injury. Kyle Walker-Peters has been playing at right-back, while Juan Foyth was also used in Aurier’s position during pre-season.

Until recently, Aurier was regularly rotated with Kieran Trippier, but it looks like Mauricio Pochettino is currently overseeing a complete overhaul at right-back. Trippier has been sold to Atletico Madrid and it looks like Aurier could be on his way out next.

The Times claims Aurier wants to move back to France or to Italy in search of regular first-team football, something he is set to miss out on if he remains at Tottenham.

Since joining the club in the summer of 2017, Aurier has struggled to nail down a place in the side, and more recently injuries have disrupted his chances of becoming a regular. He will be no great loss to Spurs if he does depart in the coming days.
