Victor Wanyama is unsure about joining Club Brugge despite the fact Tottenham have agreed a £13 million deal to sell the midfielder, according to the London Evening Standard.
Earlier this week, we relayed a story suggesting Wanyama was on the verge of joining Brugge after agreeing terms on a long-term contract with the Belgian club. It now appears those reports were slightly premature.
The Evening Standard claims Spurs have accepted a £13 million bid from Brugge, but Wanyama is said to be uncertain about leaving the Londoners for Belgium in the coming days.
It is believed Tottenham are eager to sell the Kenyan, who is unlikely to feature much this season following the arrival of record signing Tanguy Ndombele in central midfield. That said, Ndombele and Eric Dier are both out of Sunday’s north London derby, so Pochettino could do with a player like Wanyama at his disposal.
In any case, it seems Wanyama’s time at Spurs is coming to an end, whether that’s before Monday’s European deadline or possibly in the January transfer window.
The 28-year-old has made 93 appearances across three seasons at Tottenham, suffering from form and fitness issues over the last couple of years following a serious knee injury in 2017/18.
