Christian Eriksen’s Denmark dropped potential crucial points in their Group D clash against Georgia on Sunday evening.

A victory would have seen the Danes leapfrog Republic of Ireland in their qualifying group ahead of Euro 2020, but they were frustrated by the Georgian’s in Tbilisi and now sit just a single point above Switzerland ahead of their clash in Copenhagen next month after they thrashed Gibraltar at the same time.

Eriksen, who scored twice and added an assist in Denmark’s thumping victory over Gibraltar on Friday evening, came close to notching again in the 56th minute but blazed wide of the target – and his side had to settle for a point heading into their final three group matches.

Denmark will host the Swiss and Gibraltar before travelling to leaders Ireland in their final match, where Eriksen could possibly come up against Tottenham teammate Troy Parrott in Dublin on 18 November.
