Ryan Sessegnon’s wait for his Tottenham debut will go into October after the 19-year-old was ruled out of their Premier League game against Southampton on Saturday.
The winger, who joined from Fulham earlier this summer, hasn’t played this season thanks to a hamstring problem he injured whilst on international duty with England Under-21s.
Sessegnon looked on course to return to first-team action after joining the senior squad for training at Hotspur Way prior to their game against Crystal Palace – and the Carabao Cup 3rd Round tie at Colchester United looked like a potential debut for the teenager.
However, Sessegnon has suffered a set back in training and is currently being assessed by the club whilst he continues his rehabilitation from the problem.
Elsewhere, Giovani Lo Celso remains out with a hip problem he endured whilst playing for Argentina, but defenders Juan Foyth and Kyle Walker-Peters could return to Premier League action when the Saints visit North London on Saturday, but Serge Aurier looks in the driving seat to start for a third successive match at right-back.
