Jose Mourinho is among the candidates to take over from Mauricio Pochettino as Tottenham manager, according to reports in Italy.
Pochettino’s future has been a source of speculation of late following a disastrous run of form. The Argentinian will be under pressure if results carry on going the way they are, though there are doubts Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will pull the trigger on a manager who has done so much for the club’s stature.
Regardless of whether Pochettino’s job is truly at risk, the media are already linking big names with the possible vacancy. Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claims Mourinho is on a shortlist along with former Juventus boss Max Allegri. Both managers are currently out of work.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail believes Mourinho may not want to work with Tottenham’s current financial structure, but that apparently wouldn’t be an issue for Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe, who is also ‘much-admired’ by Spurs.
It is interesting to predict who will take over from Pochettino when the time comes for him to leave, but many Tottenham supporters will be hoping he stays and is given the chance to turn results around.
Unless the board is willing to realise the vast potential of our club, then it doesnt matter who is the manager. Almost 50 years supporting Spurs & never once been satisfied. Early 80s very good , but 2 centre backs & we could have been champions But we didnt buy them
