Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino will have some big decisions to make when his side return to Premier League action against Watford on Saturday.
The Spurs boss will not have new signings Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Lo Celso at his disposal after the pair only returned from their respected injuries this week, but has a fully fit squad to choose from besides captain Hugo Lloris, who remains out with an elbow injury.
Pochettino had no less than 16 senior players on international duty, so will have to monitor the fitness of his players ahead of their clash with the Hornets. But in a video posted on Spurs’ Twitter account earlier today, the majority of those players looked to have returned to Hotspur Way fit and healthy.
But there was one notable absentee – Heung Min Son. The South Korean star was playing against rivals North Korea in a 2022 World Cup qualifier in Pyongyang on Tuesday afternoon, so would have returned to London on Wednesday evening at the earliest.
With a crucial Champions League meeting with Red Star Belgrade to come next Tuesday before a daunting-looking trip to Anfield the following weekend, the possibility of Son being rested is quite high after a heavy amount of travelling, which could open the door for Lucas Moura, who hasn’t started since the 2-2 draw with Olympiacos almost a month ago.
