Moussa Sissoko’s performances for club and country continue to earn him plaudits – but the Frenchman is still in search for his first goal since 2017.
In truth, the 30-year-old hasn’t come remotely close to scoring for Tottenham recently – squandering his best chance late in the draw with Arsenal last month.
His last strike came in a Carabao Cup tie against West Ham more than two years ago, but Sissoko almost ended that long run for France in their 1-1 draw with Turkey in their Euro 2020 qualifier in Paris on Tuesday.
His first opportunity was clawed off the line by Mert Gunok before the Turkish goalkeeper denied the Spurs midfielder’s low effort soon after.
You can watch Sissoko’s two chances in the video below. The first is 15 seconds in and the second is just more than a minute later.
He would not score if had an open goal!!!,
He’s had so many opportunities it’s unreal,,,,,!.,
