Tottenham are in desperate need of a result against Watford this weekend after the 3-0 capitulation at Brighton before the international break, and Mauricio Pochettino has a number of decisions to make regarding his team selection.

After reports suggested the Spurs boss is planning big changes, we recently drew up a possible XI that could play against Watford. But there have since been injury updates that could lead to tweaks.

Paulo Gazzaniga will start between the sticks and we may see the returning Michel Vorm on the bench. At left-back, Ryan Sessegnon still isn’t ready to play so Danny Rose is likely to keep his place despite some questionable performances from the 29-year-old.

On the other side, Juan Foyth might make his first appearance of the season at right-back after getting plenty of minutes in that position for Argentina during the break. Pochettino could bring Davinson Sanchez in at centre-back, but he may prefer the experience of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen while the team tries to dig themselves out of a hole.

We will probably see a familiar midfield three of Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko and Tanguy Ndombele after the Eric Dier experiment failed at Brighton. Dele Alli should come in for Christian Eriksen – who suffered a dead leg playing for Denmark – to provide support for Heung-min Son and Harry Kane.

Here’s our predicted XI to face Watford – what’s yours? Let us know in the comments section below.

  1. Different more attacking formation starting Moura
    GAZZANIGA
    FOYTH SANCHEZ TANGANGA DAVIES

    WINKS NDOMBELE
    MOURA ALLI SON

    KANE

  2. This team is a present and future team contract situations are considered but footballing objectives take priority, Toby and Jan have not excelled and given their ages now is a good time to rest prior to CL games where their experience will be needed. I also believe Watford is as good a team as any now for Tanganga to debut and Sanchez to return….the defense is the likely defense for next season anyway. Moura and Son should play as wide forwards and Alli can join attacks and press well. If Sissoko starts Alli sits Ndombele plays in attacking 3 and Sissoko and Winks start

    GAZZANIGA
    Foyth Sanchez Tanganga Davies

    Sissoko Winks

    Moura. Ndombele Son

    Kane
    Your thoughts?

  3. Whatever we say or predict,MP will doubtlessly start with Eriksen(if fit) and will play Aurier or someone out of position at right back.
    Need I say more?!?!?….
