Tottenham dropped yet more points with a disappointing 1-1 draw against Watford on Saturday.

Abdoulaye Doucoure’s early goal was cancelled out by a late Dele Alli strike, despite some VAR controversy.

Here’s how every Spurs player rated on the day.

Paulo Gazzaniga, 5 – Could do little about the goal. A couple of poor miscues when trying to distribute.

Serge Aurier, 5 – Some decent moments at both ends but far too inconsistent and erratic.

Toby Alderweireld, 4 – Got forward from the back three but his crossing was poor and he was slow to get back.

Jan Vertonghen, 4 – Suddenly looks his age, constantly back-peddling and reluctant to stride forward.

Danny Rose, 4 – Constantly exposed and caught out of position. Only really got forward towards the end.

Harry Winks, 4 – Could have done with distributing the ball more faster, though the fans were on his back too easily.

Moussa Sissoko, 5 – Didn’t stop working throughout but was a little loose in possession.

Dele Alli, 5 – Saved a really sloppy performance with a well-taken goal. Still off the pace, though.

Lucas Moura, 4 – Did very little whenever he managed to get on the ball, which wasn’t very often.

Harry Kane, 4 – Just not involved enough. Particularly frustrating after his fine all-round display for England.

Substitutes

Heung-Min Son, 5 – Made an immediate difference when he struck the bar. Probed after that but no final ball.

Erik Lamela, 4 – Got into some good areas but his crossing and passing was dreadful.

Tanguy Ndombele, N/A – Sped Spurs up straight away. Should have started, in hindsight.

  1. Haven’t seen the game — Can’t see it down here in New Zealand. So the prevailing comment up to now since Ndombele arrived is he has to strive hard to get up to pace in the Premier League. And today he “sped Spurs up straight away” after coming on as a sub. Sounds like Spurs are suddenly pathetic, or Poch doesn’t know his best team (a long-time complaint from many quarters) and doesn’t know who to play and play them to their strengths. Something’s surely gotta give now — unless that miracle goal from a reportedly “appalling” Alli saves any action for another week to limp by.

  2. Well I guess that is better than a loss.
If there is one thing that has been outstanding about our club is the wonderful support it has had over the years, but are the supporters too blind or too stupid to realise what is happening?Any one who can defend Pocc needs his head examined. He is an absolute liability and I believe that there is a conspiracy going on.He is doing all he can to be sacked whilst Levy will not sack him as it will cost money- Mind you the loss of income playing in the Championship in a half empty stadium will be a lot higher than paying off the clown “ coaching” the club.Pocc for sure will not do the honourable thing and resign.
It is a Catch 22 situation.
I have been saying now for some time that we are sliding towards relegation unless something drastic is done and by that I am not saying listening to Pocc stating that he will get it right, that the players love him that they are smiling in training etc…

  3. Kane and Winks were outstanding in Sofia last Monday. On with the Spurs shirt and they are plain ordinary.

It is plain to see that the players don’t want to play for Poch anymore for whatever reason;he has lost the dressing room;he doesn’t know his best team, he can’t motivate the players; he doesn’t have a plan A let alone a plan B; his stubbornness in picking the wrong players is affecting the performances.Need I say more? And NO, he will not get it right with time.

  4. Don’t blame Poch. He is the most successful coach since El Tel.
His model relies on players running through walls for him. If this lot won’t do, he needs to replace them as he did when he disposed of Paulinho, Adebayor, Chriches et Al.
Disappointed with Lucas and Delly. Not on international call up, so expected more.
We don’t seem to be able to win a game when CE doesn’t start!!
