Tottenham are keeping tabs on Brazil forward Everton Soares, according to Sky Sports.

Mauricio Pochettino is likely to have a second attempt at overhauling his squad in the January transfer window after failing to satisfactorily refresh the group in the summer. Reports suggest a number of players are up for sale in January, including Christian Eriksen.

If Eriksen leaves, Pochettino may want a new attacker to add creativity and goals to the team, and it looks like the club may have identified an ideal target.

Sky Sports claim Spurs chief scout Steve Hitchen recently spent time in South America in search of possible signings. While in Brazil, he was able to cast an eye over Everton while the winger was playing for Gremio in the Copa Libertadores.

Everton has scored 12 goals in 32 appearances across all competitions in 2019 and can play out wide or through the middle. The Brazilian season ends in December and so the 23-year-old could be on the move in January.

Perhaps Tottenham are considering Everton as an alternative to Paulo Dybala, who now appears to be an important part of Maurizio Sarri’s plans at Juventus. However, Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo believes Barcelona are also keen on Everton.
