Bayern Munich could approach Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino in the future, according to reports in Germany, a scenario that might be just around the corner if Bayern’s latest defeat is anything to go by.

The Bundesliga champions thrashed Spurs 7-2 last month, yet head coach Niko Kovac’s job security is anything but safe. Bayern were thumped 5-1 by Frankfurt on Saturday, sliding down to fourth in the table, four points behind leaders Borussia Monchengladbach.

If results keep going that way, Kovac could soon find himself out of a job and Bayern will need a new manager. And German outlet Sport1 claims the club’s sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic, is a fan of Pochettino.

Of course, Pochettino is also under pressure as a result of Tottenham’s poor form. The Londoners go into Sunday’s meeting with Everton on the back of three Premier League games without a victory.

But Bayern apparently have Pochettino’s phone number. The question is: will they be calling the Argentinian soon? It all depends on Kovac’s job status, which is looking increasingly under threat.
