Troy Parrott could be given his first ever taste of Premier League action after the 17-year-old has been named on the bench against Everton.
The teenager has been in splendid form for both club and country in recent months and notched four goals in Spurs’ 9-2 victory over Red Star Belgrade U19s at Hotspur Way.
And with Harry Kane out with illness and no other recognised striker in the entire squad, Mauricio Pochettino has included Parrott in his squad for the game at Goodison Park today.
Elsewhere, with Danny Rose suspended and Erik Lamela once again injured, Ryan Sessegnon is also named among the substitutes as he looks to kick-start his Spurs career.
In other team news, record-signing Tanguy Ndombele returns in place of Harry Winks and there are also starts for Ben Davies – who captains the side – Christian Eriksen and Lucas Moura, but Giovani Lo Celso’s long-awaited first start for the club goes on.
