Tottenham are considering leaving Son Heung-min at home for Wednesday’s crunch Champions League clash with Red Star, according to the Mirror.

Son was visibly distraught after being involved in the incident that led to Andre Gomes’ broken ankle during Spurs’ draw with Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.

He will miss Tottenham’s next three Premier League games unless the Londoners are successful with an appeal against his red card. But it seems Son’s mental state could also have an effect on his availability in Europe.

Spurs travel to Red Star on Wednesday for a game that could have a huge impact on who qualifies from Group B, with just a point currently separating the sides.

And the Mirror claims Tottenham will check Son is in the right mindset before making a decision on whether he will travel to Belgrade with the rest of the squad.

Harry Kane missed Sunday’s match through illness, so Mauricio Pochettino will be extra keen for the England captain to return if Son is unavailable. If both Kane and Son can’t play, expect to see Lucas Moura deployed through the middle again.

  1. This why you keep a kid with the quality of Parrot on the first team roster and give him 10 to 15 minutes run. Parrot for his age has the size and game to be in this squad, not sure what the manager is doing.
