Heung Min Son will be available for Tottenham’s next three Premier League fixtures after his red card in the draw at Everton on Sunday was overturned.
Son was sent off for serious foul play in the latter stages of the game at Goodison Park – a tackle that left Blues midfielder Andre Gomes with a season-ending ankle injury and the Spurs man visibly distressed for his part played in the incident.
But an independent Regulatory Commission confirmed that it was the wrong decision by referee Martin Atkinson and therefore have overturned the red card.
It all means that Son, who has scored five goals for Spurs this season, will be able to feature against Sheffield United on Saturday and then West Ham United and Bournemouth after the international break.
Despite the distress, Son is currently in the Serbian capital with the rest of the squad and Mauricio Pochettino confirmed that the South Korean is available for the match against Red Star, despite reports claiming he wouldn’t be in the right frame of mind to play the game.
